The one burning now
Every week a new prompt goes on the fire. You answer with any fragment of a world — the size of your offering is up to you.
“A world where seasons change by treaty”
Somewhere, the turning of the year is a negotiated thing — a bargain struck, an agreement broken, a price paid for spring. Whose hands hold the treaty? What does winter demand, and what does summer owe? Answer with whatever piece of your world this calls up.
How to play
There is no wrong way to answer. These are only starting points.
Take the prompt somewhere personal
Don't answer it generically. Let it collide with the world you're already building — a culture, a city, a map, a magic system.
Leave any kind of fragment
A paragraph of fiction, three lines of history, a sketched map, a treaty document, a list of trade goods. If it came out of your world, it belongs at the fire.
No length gate, no gatekeeping
A half-formed idea is a welcome one. Fragments don't get judged — they get company.
The archive
Past prompts, still warm. The archive starts the day the fire opens — this first prompt is the beginning.
The fire hasn't finished its first week yet
There are no archived prompts yet — you'd be answering the very first one. When the next prompt is lit, this one moves down here with the answers it gathered.
